CASK Research UK Pilot Project Award 2023
CASK Research UK are soliciting proposals for a one-year £25,000 pilot grant. Proposals should focus on the CASK gene and/or MICPCH.
Goal: To generate preliminary research data needed to secure more substantial funding through traditional government, institutional, and/or industry grant mechanisms. CASK Research UK seeks to support research that fills critical gaps on current knowledge across basic science, clinical care and translational therapeutics which will ultimately improve the lives of children with MICPCH. Scientist-clinician-patient collaborations are encouraged. Dissemination of research findings through publications and presentations are required responsibilities of funded applicants.
Eligibility Criteria: This grant is only available to UK researchers or those affiliated with a UK university.
Proposals will be reviewed by CRUK’s Research Review Committee and Advisory Board and selected for funding based on the following criteria:
- Thematic relationship to the aims and scope of CASK Research UK
- Scientific quality of the proposal
- Leverage existing resources and infrastructure, especially the CASK RARE-X data collection programme
- Feasibility in projected time frame
